Dressing up, dressing down

Dressing for day to night

If there’s one thing I’ve become quite good at since I started working full-time is filling my wardrobe with clothes that can easily transition from day to night.

I often find myself going to press events, dinners with friends and blogger meetups straight after work, so wearing outfits that work for both day and night is really important to me.

This outfit is probably one of my most favourite, it’s a melting pot of different textures, patterns and colours and I think they all come perfectly together.

The jacket

I’m sure a few of you have seen this jacket before, I’ve had it for a couple of years now and I wear it loads during the autumn.

It’s such an unusual pattern and is so thin it’s perfect for layering over the top of t-shirts, jumpers and blouses.

I bought it second hand, so it already looked quite lived in when I bought it, and I’m sure I’ll get lots more years of wear out of it.

The lace top

I’m so in love with this top, I feel like it’s the perfect party top for autumn and winter!

It was an absolute steal at £7.99 and I love the colour of the burgundy lace.

The front has a vest slip while the back is see-through, which I feel makes it look extra pretty.

The trainers

I’m still in love with these trainers since adding them to my wardrobe in February.

Although I do feel they clash slightly with the jacket, I think I can juust about get away with it!

If I was going to wear this look on a night out I would probably swap the trainers for black heels just to dress it up a bit.
