Less is better
Like lots of people, I constantly find myself drawn to beautiful, statement pieces. But sometimes less is better, and my most neutral outfits are always the ones that get the most wear out of them – like this one! They’re also often my most comfortable outfits, which is probably why I find myself wearing them again and again.
The other great thing about the ‘less is better’ approach is that the minimal outfits I put together are often timeless and, unlike trend-based pieces, they stay fashionable year after year.
Jacket and boots
I’ve had this jacket for years, since I was 18 I think! Every Spring I find myself wearing it non-stop and the fact that it is cropped means it’s really flattering. The studs on it are a nice detail that make it far more attractive than if it was just plain.
I’ve also been wearing these boots non-stop since getting them in December because they go with everything in my wardrobe and are really comfy. Let’s be honest, you can’t go wrong with a pair of black ankle boots, so these are definitely a minimalist wardrobe essential for me.
I picked this midi dress up at The Blogger’s Market for an absolute bargain at £3 and honestly, It’s one of the best buys I’ve made! I love the length of it, and the dark grey colour means it makes my cut of wardrobe essentials. I love how it looks on its own, but I think it looks best with a cropped leather or denim jacket over the top. This dress is also something I would wear with all sorts of footwear – trainers, boots, flats…I think it looks perfect with everything!
Bag and bangle
This bag is my favourite in my wardrobe right now – the fact that it’s black means it goes with literally everything. It’s the perfect size to fit everything I need for a day trip in (sunglasses, keys, wallet, phone…) without being so big it’s heavy to carry around.
I’m a lot more into wearing jewellery right now, and this bangle is so subtle I think it’s the perfect way to accessorise this minimalist outfit.
Sunglasses and choker
I picked these sunglasses up for just £4 from Primark a few weeks ago, and I’m seriously obsessed with them right now! I love the rose gold colour of them and the style is very similar to a lot of higher end brands.
Finally, I added this choker to my outfit, and I think it’s the perfect final touch. The white lace is something I wouldn’t naturally go for, but I think it really works with this outfit.
