How I’m styling gingham this Spring

gingham top Primark

The gingham trend

I’ve seen gingham EVERYWHERE recently, and so (naturally) I’ve found myself buying a few bits and pieces here and there that fit the trend. Something about it just makes me feel really summery, so when the sun made a brief appearance this weekend I couldn’t resist putting on a pretty gingham top and enjoying the weather!

I have another shirt in this pattern, so keep an eye out for that one in upcoming outfit posts…

How to style gingham

I wanted to keep this look casual, so I stuck to my trusty blue skinny jeans and some cute flats. These jeans are the Jamie style from Topshop, which I practically live in. They’re an ankle grazer style, so I tend to roll them up because I don’t like the way they look unrolled. They’re also high waisted, which means they’re great at sucking in my stomach and giving me a bit more of a waist!

The star of the show, this gingham top, is from Primark and was an absolute steal at just £8. I love the off-the-shoulder giant frill and I think the pattern makes it really pretty. It’s slightly out of my comfort zone but I’m sure I’m going to be wearing it on repeat this spring and summer.

The flats are from Office and are one of the cutest things in my wardrobe right now. What you can’t quite see in the photos is the cute bow on the back of each flat, they really remind me of bunny ears! The grey colour means these go with basically everything in my wardrobe, too, so I’m sure I’ll get lots of wear out of them.

I picked this cute silver bag up at The Blogger’s Market, and I’ve been using it quite a lot ever since. It’s the perfect size for my phone, keys, wallet and a couple of bits of makeup and I really love the feel of the heavy metal chain it’s on.

Finally, we have these sunglasses from La Moda, which I recently rediscovered when doing a huge bedroom clear-out. I love that these are circle, I wasn’t sure if I could pull them off but I actually really love them.
