When I started this blog
The main focus was beauty. Yes, I did occasionally share the odd outfit here and there, but my desire to start a blog came from a fascination with the world of beauty, the bloggers writing about it and the endless products and collections that seemed to launch every year. I would spend the majority of my Uni loan on whatever was new, hastily photographing it before swatching everything and sharing my thoughts over here.
That passion for beauty hasn’t faded, but the amount of time and energy I dedicate to it has. And that’s something I want to change. So, this is the last fashion post you’ll ever see on this blog (unless I change my mind at some point in the future which, let’s face it, is likely to happen knowing me). Of course, it’s not the last time I’m going to be sharing my outfits with you, if you enjoy the fashion content I create, I strongly advise you hop on over to my Instagram feed, I will be continuing to share outfits snaps over there.
Instagram is another reason why I’m bringing this blog back to pure beauty. My outfit posts are some of my most popular on the platform, and once I’ve shared an outfit in photo snippets throughout the week, talking through some of the details in each photo, I really don’t see the point of doing it all over again in one long blog post. Beauty, however, is much better suited to the blog post format. Writing here allows me to share an in depth review, tell you my exact thoughts on something and share the swatches alongside the product shots.
So I’m bringing it back to beauty, but not before posting one final outfit. This one. Ignoring how desperately in need of a dye job my hair is, the main focus of this outfit for me is perhaps not the most obvious one to you. It’s the shoes. Read on to find out why…
Dressing of the weather…in London
Dressing for the weather in London is as simple as making a semi-familiar dish blindfolded. You think you know how to put it together, but it’s only when you take the blindfold off that you realise you’ve got something fundamentally wrong. In this scenario, it was checking the forecast, seeing the mild predictions and not accounting for the fact that London is just bloody cold ALL of the time.
I definitely could have done with a thicker, longer jacket on this occasion but you know what? The outfit photographed beautifully and I spent most of the day indoors so what does it matter.
FINALLY! Comfortable AND stylish shoes
You’re never going to believe where these are from (unless you’re somebody who regularly keeps up to date with my social media feeds)…CROCS! I know, I was also surprised when I spied them on their website and they’re so perfect for summer I just had to make them mine. They’re honestly one of the most comfortable pairs of shoes I own – the sole is so squishy it’s a dream to walk on. Also, as they’re plain black and really not that high they go with basically any and every outfit I can think of, perfect.
Anyways, I just had to share them here because I think they’re truly brilliant and they deserve a feature on my blog. I hope you’ve enjoyed my final outfit post, now onwards with the beauty content!
