Boho beach waves
Beachy waves are always something I’ve dreamed if creating myself, but I can never quite get the curls I create with my straighteners to look as natural and loose as I want them to. Luckily, on Wednesday evening I was invited to a Boho Beach party at Neverland with one of my favourite brands, Umberto Giannini, where I was able to get my hair done and have the perfect beachy waves created.
As you can see above, I had some natural waves worked into my hair and a messy top knot created (something I wish I could do myself, and I am now determined to master!) As the event was to celebrate the launch of Umberto Giannini’s Boho Beach collection, I had the Catch A Wave Beach Texture Spray used on my hair while it was being styled to really soften and loosen the curls and give a lovely beachy finish to the hair. As the spray includes coconut oil, it’s actually really conditioning and I found that really helped to hold the style without leaving my hair feeling too gritty or stiff.
Making beachy waves easy
Sian, part of the Umberto Giannini team, styled my hair for me and she made it all feel so simple and easy to do! She started with curling my hair, turning the straighteners in different directions for each new section of hair. After this, the Catch A Wave spray was applied liberally to my hair before the curls were shook out for a more relaxed, natural look.
To create the topknot, the front of my hair was tied in a ponytail, before being pulled halfway through the second and third time it was tied, from there, some strands were teased out before lots of hair grips were used to pin everything in for a more rounded topknot. Sian made it all feel so easy I’m hoping it’s something I will be able to recreate myself at home!
The Boho Beach collection
The Catch A Wave texturising spray is part of a collection of five products, all of which I really can’t wait to get stuck into! There’s a coconut oil shampoo and conditioner, which I think will be great for keeping my curls hydrated. There’s also a Pool Proof leave-in hair protection cream that protects hair from the damaging effects of chlorine in swimming pools and a beach scrunching jelly which is great for really defining curls.
I really do think this range is brilliant, and I’m looking forward to using them all to create perfect beachy hairstyles at home.
#BohoBeachParty and Mermaid Juice
Of course, the event wasn’t just about getting our hair styled, it was also the perfect opportunity to catch up with some of my blogger friends and enjoy a couple of drinks! We were treated to some Mermaid Juice cocktails (a blend of gin and lime mixer) which were really delicious and perfect for sipping on as we all caught up with each other.
Of course, we couldn’t resist having a full hair photoshoot while we were at Neverland, and I really love the pictures we each got in front of the beautiful mint green wall. I had a really lovely evening at the Boho Beach Party, it was such a nice way to spend a Wednesday and I love the hair style I had done!
