Getting to grips with Glo Minerals

glo minerals products on trial

Glo-Minerals makeup

I’ve got a new brand to introduce you to! I have seen Glo-Minerals products before, but I’ve never actually tried them out for myself. So, when I was set a few bits to test out I was excited to see how I got on with them.

My current makeup routine is pretty solid, I have my primer-foundation combo that works like magic and stays flawless all day (Oud Milano Flawless Beauty Primer and The Body Shop Fresh Nude foundation, FYI), I have matte liquid lipsticks that glide on like a dream and come in the most beautiful, flattering colours (The Body Shop Matte Lip Liquids) and I have a mascara that lifts and defines my lashes like no other (Joan Collins Timeless Beauty Class Act mascara).

Therefore, I’m always curious to see if new products can sway me from my favourites, and I have to admit I think a couple of these products will!

I have been gifted the Tinted Primer*, a Suede Matte Crayon* and the Elemental Eye Collection*. I have to admit, these products have definitely left me curious to try more from Glo-Minerals, and I have a feeling a couple of these will be making their way into my weekly beauty rotation.

Tinted Primer in Light

I have to admit, I was most hesitant to try this product out because, as I mentioned above, I’ve recently found a really good primer and foundation combo that’s working brilliantly for me. That said, I really shouldn’t have been hesitant because this is a really lovely product to use!

On it’s own, the primer has a slight tint to it, which isn’t obvious once you apply it but it definitely helps to even out your skin tone a bit. It also has SPF30, which is a major plus for me because in the summer months I do not leave my house without some form of SPF on!

It applies really beautifully, and I could really feel the smoothing effects on my skin. Under The Body Shop Fresh Nue foundation, it was a total dream. My foundation applied flawlessly over the top and I got a really natural finish, which I love!

My advice would be to use this in combination with a sheer, glowy foundation rather than a matte one for the best results.

Suede Matte Crayon in Sorbet

I do love myself a matte lipstick, and this bright pink is perfect for summer! This glides onto the lips, and the crayon shape makes it really easy to apply and touch up on the go. As you can see from the swatch above, this is a beautiful blue-toned fuschia which will really work for anyone who, like me, suits cooler tones on their lips.

Elemental Eye Collection

I have to admit, I’m not 100% sold on this palette. Purely because, as you can see in the swatches above, the lighter shades really don’t have the pigmentation of the darker ones. That said, you can create a really nice natural smokey eye look with this and the shade range means you can get a lot of variation in the intensity of the look you create.
