Hydrating skincare from Burt’s Bees

Hydrating skincare

I don’t know about you, but in the summer months my skin craves all of the moisture it can get. Typically, my skin can be quite dry, just a few days of using something formulated for normal/oily skin and I’ve got the most horrendous sry patches that make any makeup I put on top look horrendous.

Therefore, I tend to use hydrating skincare products religiously, slathering my skin in overnight masks and thick creams to keep it as moisturised and plump as possible. At the Blogosphere issue 13 cover reveal I was gifted this impressive box of products* by Burt’s Bees, a brand I’ve previously fallen in love with due to their amazing lip balms and hand creams.

When I noticed that most of these products are formulated for dry skin, I was so excited to try them – I love adding to my hydrating skincare stash!

Burts Bees Intense Hydration mask

Intense Hydration mask

I love a hydrating mask, especially because I can pop them on my skin before settling in for an hour of Love Island drama while they work their magic. This has the consistency of a thick moisturising cream, which isn’t the most attractive look when it’s slapped on your face, but it definitely does work. To remove, just gently wipe away the excess with a cotton wool pad then massage any extra product into your face.

This works well for me just before bed, and it leaves my skin feeling gorgeous.

Burst Bees Intense Hydration Night Cream

Intense Hydration Night Cream

I do love a good night cream, it’s such a satisfying feeling when you wake up from a good night’s sleep with soft, plump skin. This one is thicker than others I’ve tried before, but it sinks in nicely and doesn’t feel sticky on my skin. I wouldn’t use this alongside the treatment mask – I would opt for either or, otherwise your skin will probably feel a bit overloaded with product!

A little definitely goes a long way, and a pea-sized amount is definitely enough for my whole face.

Burts Bees Sensitive daily moisturising cream

Sensitive daily moisturising cream

Typically, I don’t really like moisturisers in this type of container because you can’t see how much you have left and you often can’t use every little bit up before throwing it out! That said, this cream does feel lovely on my skin and would be perfect for anyone whose skin is sensitive to new products (Mine used to be hyper-sensitive, but it seems to have calmed as I’ve grown older).

My only issue with this is that it doesn’t include a SPF, which is a bit annoying as it means I have to go in with another product for sun protection. That said, a quick SPF mist over the top and I am good to go for the day. Think I’ll get more use out of this in the winter when I’m a bit more lax with SPF.

Burts Bees Cleansing oil

Cleansing oil

This smells completely and utterly delicious, probably because of the coconut and argan oils it’s formulated with! This is a much thinner oil than I’m used to cleansing with, which nearly caused a tragic spillage incident when I first pumped it into my hand to use…One pump is definitely enough for a full face cleanse, and much like most other oils out there this is great for removing any stubborn bits of makeup and cleansing your face. I use this day and night as a one step cleansing routine and my skin is loving it.
