Summer-proofing your hair
During the summer months, my hair can definitely suffer. The heat causes it to frizz and I often find myself having to saturate it with oils and leave-in conditioners to avoid it drying out and, just generally, looking horrendous. Luckily for me, Philip Kingsley have a few summer-proofing products up their sleeves, and I’m sure sticking to using these will help to really protect my hair this summer.
First up we have the incredibly popular Elasticizer in a new Coconut Breeze fragrance followed by a quartet of mini travel products that will protect your hair from the sun, sea and swimming pool!
Coconut Breeze Elasticizer*
This is the one Philip Kingsley product I’ve heard most about, it feels like everyone raves about how amazing it has been at transforming their hair. The main aim of the Elasticizer is to help build strength within your hair, reducing breakage and snapping.
As somebody who suffers from split ends (probably because of the amount of heat styling I do with my hair!) this is such a life saver and after using it a couple of times I have to say my hair is feeling a bit stronger – time will tell as to if it will reduce the amount of split ends I get! The Coconut Breeze scent is really lovely and the packaging is really pretty too.

Sun Shield* and Instant Beach*
Sun Shield – Did you know that your hair can burn, just like your skin, if you leave it unprotected in the sun? This spray is the perfect size for stashing in your hand luggage and spritzing it all over your hair can help to protect it from dryness caused by UV rays, chlorine and salt water.
Instant Beach – I don’t tend to use salt sprays on my hair because I find they’re a bit too rough for it. My hair is naturally curly, so to create beachy waves I need to use something just a touch more nourishing. The Philip Kingsley Instant Beach spray features Elastin and Meadowfoam Oil, meaning I can add some texture to my hair without compromising on condition.
Swimcap* and After-Sun Scalp Mask*
Swimcap – How cool does this sound?! The basic idea is that you pop it on your hair before entering the sea/pool to protect it from any damage caused by the water. It was formulated for the US Olympic synchronised swim team, so you know it’s going to be good for using before entering the pool. This is definitely being added to my must-have poolside beauty lineup.
After-Sun Scalp Mask – If you’re somebody who has suffered from a burnt scalp in the past, you’re going to want to try this. It’s great for soothing and calming sensitive skin, and includes high levels of Aloe Vera.
