Sheet mask heaven
As you might be aware, I’m a massive sheet mask fan. I think it’s for two reasons: 1) I have naturally quite dry skin and they’re perfect for topping up my moisture levels while having a mini pamper session and 2) I secretly enjoy the creepy serial killer vibe they give when you’re wearing one. Walking into someone’s bedroom to be confronted by them with a sheet mask on is a truly terrifying, heart-stopping moment that I revel in. Sorry, not sorry.
A couple of weeks ago I popped into the Oh K! sheet mask event and, I’m not gonna lie, I was pretty much in heaven. I wanted to try all of them, all at once. Luckily, I was gifted a few to try at home, and I’m saving them for when I feel like I need an extra special treat. In fact, I might pop them in the fridge so they’re ice cold when I do use them – bliss.
Anyways, Oh K! are pretty much storming it when it comes to sheet masks, so I thought I would highlight some of my faves for you today, enjoy…
Moisturising Sleep Mask
Ok so this one isn’t actually a sheet mask but…it is a super moisturising gel so I’ll let that slide (moisturising gel…slide…there’s a joke in here somewhere). Slather this all over your skin before settling in for a night of beauty sleep (or if you’re me, a night of tossing and turning while dreaming about some incredibly bizarre things…) and wake up with baby soft skin. I mean, what more could you want in life?!
Bubble Sheet Mask
I am THE world’s biggest sucker for novelty, so as soon as I discovered bubble sheet masks a few months ago (via The Kitty Luxe, I might add) I was completely and utterly obsessed. The is supposed to exfoliate and brighten but to be honest, it could do nothing to my skin and I would still be using it religiously because BUBBLES.
Coffee Hydrogel Face Mask
Gel sheet masks are the work of pure angels, they feel so deliciously hydrating on my skin and when I remove them (and get over the fact that the texture is similar to that of a condom…) and massage in the excess product I’m left with super soft, hydrated skin. This is supposed to refresh the skin, and if you pop it in the fridge for a couple of hours before using it I’m sure your skin will thank you for it.
Cherry Gel Lip Mask
If, like me, you share the obsession with freaking people out with your sheet mask wearing habit, then you’re going to love this lip mask. I’ve tried Sephora’s version of these, and as well as enjoying looking like I had just had an extreme and terrible session of lip fillers, I also did notice my lips felt softer once I removed the mask.
Nobu Hotel Shoreditch
It’s worth mentioning that this event was hosted at the beautiful Nobu hotel in Shoreditch. We were treated to a selection of sushi and canapés which, after declining multiple times, I finally caved into trying. I can confirm they were delicious, and they made for some pretty great pictures so I had to include them here. Once again, sorry, not sorry.
If you haven’t tried the Oh K! range of masks yet you really HAVE to! Honourable mention for the Peeling Foot Mask, when you first use it nothing happens then…3-4 days later your feet are peeling like never before and you’re left with baby smooth skin. Revolting AND effective – just what I like!
